Former supervisors accused of sexually assaulting mentally disabled girl
Two former supervisors at a group home near Wausau are accused of sexually assaulting a mentally-disabled girl.
Daniel Kurth, 39, Wausau, and Robert Thorpe, 54, Aniwa, are charged in Marathon County with eight counts of second-degree sexual assault, having intercourse with a child, and exposure.
The girl was 17 at the time with a brain injury which caused her to have short-term memory loss.
She was living at a Lutheran Social Services home in Weston when the two supervisors working alone on different shifts reportedly molested her between August of 2005 and January 2006.
Kurth and Thorpe were removed from their supervisory roles last year and they were fired once authorities investigated. Both men are free on signature bonds.
A judge will decide May 31 where the case will go from here.
