"The purpose of the grant is to help our pediatric patients feel comfortable and welcome," said Kari Rambo, Hudson Hospital Foundation President. "Facing cancer infusion therapy treatments for these children can be scary and unsettling, so staff from various hospital departments came up with an idea to make the Pediatric Chemotherapy & Infusion Center room come to life."

Along with books and toys for the pediatric patients, the grant was used to create a life-size "Packer-Viking" theme mural painted in the pediatric infusion therapy room.

"It's perfect for Hudson's border community, where patients are drawn from the east Metro and western Wisconsin with Packer and Viking fans across the region," Rambo said.

Alyssa Johnson, a recent New Richmond High School graduate, did the painting for the project. Hudson Hospital Foundation's grant supports the hospital's mission of "Caring for the health of our community" and providing exceptional patient experiences.
