Garden Club seeks photos
David Bredehoft is an amateur photographer, whose picture of a swan on the frozen river was chosen by the Hudson Home and Garden Club for the 2012 Hudson Area Calendar. Having a life-long interest in art, Bredehoft picked up a camera twenty years ago when he realized that drawing and painting was not the path that would lead him to his artistic vision. His favorite subject matter is birds and landscapes, and he and his wife, Adena, have traveled to South and Central America on guided wildlife photography expeditions. Bredehoft is the chair of the Social and Behavioral Sciences Department at Concordia University in St. Paul and teaches psychology and family studies. His wife is a retired science teacher, and together they moved from Minnesota to Hudson two years ago. The club will be publishing a calendar for 2013 and is requesting photo submissions from local photographers. The focus of the calendar will be on the Hudson area and the submission deadline is July 31. Those interested can contact the club by email at email@example.com, or by phoning Terry Butler at (612) 270-1653. The calendar will be sold later this year by club members and at selected retail stores in Hudson. Profits will be used by the club to benefit community projects.
