Garden with a view on artful garden tour
The Slavskys have created three acres of beauty at their home on Wyldwood Drive in Hudson. The lovely gardens and the breathtaking view will be part of the 14th annual Artful Garden Tour Saturday, June 23, and Sunday, June 24.
This country property features multiple flower beds featuring a variety of grasses and many classic perennials. Nestled around the property, the gardens overlook the bluffs of the Badlands Sno-park. Outdoor observation areas offer a panoramic view and a wrap-around porch provides cool shade and a place to enjoy the breeze.
The Slavskys have done all the landscaping and planting themselves, with the help of Tanya's father. Everyone gets into the act--even young Sophia and Grant help with weeding. Susan Amundson, Tanya's mother, will be in the garden signing her children's book, "Hero Finds His Path," and answering questions about "writing to your passion."
The Slavskys garden is one of six gardens on the 14th annual Artful Garden Tour, sponsored by the Hudson Women's Club. The tour on June 23 and 24 will feature different types of gardens.
The tour begins at the Octagon House Museum garden, 1004 Third St. in Hudson. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $12.
Profits from the tour go to the hanging flower baskets in downtown Hudson. For more information, call (715) 386-7787.
