Gas prices rise amid concerns about oil refineries flooding
Wisconsin gas prices are heading back up amid new concerns about flooding at oil refineries on the Mississippi River.
The AAA said the average statewide price is $4.057 for a gallon of unleaded regular. Thursday's price was three-cents higher than Wednesday's, but it's still below the new state record of $4.115 set a week ago.
Meanwhile, the Oil Price Information Service says Wisconsinites are burning up around 9 percent of their incomes due to the rise in gas prices.
Wisconsinites are paying a higher percentage of their income for gas than in neighboring Minnesota, where 7.7 percent of people's incomes go out the car exhaust.
Folks in South Dakota spend around 12 percent of their incomes on gas.
