Georgia Ann Hartman, 68, of Afton, and formerly of California, died Monday, March 17, at her residence.
She was born in San Francisco, Calif., on Dec. 30, 1939, to Claude and Beatrice (Rhodes) Ashley.
On May 18, 1961, she was united in marriage to William Hartman in Marin County, Calif. In 1969, they made Afton their home.
She worked over the years as a restaurant manager for the JR Ranch in Hudson and Afton House Inn. Most recently, she worked in property management for H & Val J Rothschild Inc.
She thoroughly enjoyed meeting her friends Saturday mornings for breakfast and fellowship. She also enjoyed the tranquility of sitting in the back yard and having her cup of coffee. One of her greatest pastimes was that of a road trip and playing a one-armed bandit.
Georgia is survived by her children, Glen (Debra) Hartman of Hudson, Todd (Christy) Hartman of Afton, Tamra Hartman of Somerset and Thomas Hartman of St. Paul; grandchildren, Kevin, Cassandra, Nick, Keaton, Courtney, Alainah and Sarah; and cousins, Jeannette Taylor and Katherine Massone. She is preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Beatrice (Rhodes) Ashley, and husband, William Hartman.
A Celebration of Life for Georgia was at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Lake St. Croix Beach with Father Jerome Keiser officiating.
Burial was private.
Friends and relatives may reflect on the life of Georgia on Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the O'Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson and one hour prior to the service at church on Wednesday.
Memorials are preferred to help fight cancer.
