German Settlement enthusiasts cleaned up and planted on April 14 in preparation for the German Settlement Brick Oven and Ice Cream Social on June 12. A tree was planted with a stone marker in honor of the Speer-Bast family who donated the historic grove to the society. Members of the Pioneer Grove German Settlement area near County U and N east of Hudson will be hosting an anniversary event on June 12 honoring the German settlers of the area.
