Golf scramble supports HHS football
Supporters of the Hudson High School Raiders football program can help raise funds for the team at a golf scramble scheduled for July 20 at Kilkarney Hills Golf Course.
Registration for the seventh annual four-person event begins at 11:30 a.m. with lunch at noon followed by a 1 p.m. shotgun tournament. The $100 entry fee earns each participant lunch, practice balls for the range, 18 holes of golf, riding cart, dinner, scoring by golf club staff and a chance to win various awards and prizes. Team coach Adam Kowles is also looking for hole sponsors and donations for the silent auction.
Kowles said he has enjoyed leading the program to success with WIAA State playoff participants five of the past seven years. According to Kowles, perhaps as impressive, is that 80 percent of the ninth- through 12-grade players have qualified for the "A" or "B" honor roll the first semester of 2011.
Funds raised from the golf tournament help defray costs to improve equipment and the playing experience. To register for the golf event or ask questions, email Adam Kowles by July 13 at email@example.com. Include all golfers' names with the email.
