The Raider boys' golf team tied Eau Claire Memorial for second place at the Big Rivers Conference Tournament Friday to leave them three points behind the Old Abes in the final conference standings.

Chippewa Falls was the surprise winner Friday at Princeton Valley Golf Course in Menomonie, leading all teams with a total score of 320 to earn 14 points in the final conference standings.

Hudson, which trailed Eau Claire Memorial by three points heading into the tournament, tied the Old Abes with 325 and each team picked up 11 conference points, leaving Eau Claire Memorial at the top of the final standings with 50 points, followed by Hudson with 47.

Jake Miller, who led the Raiders Friday with a score of 79, defeated Eau Claire Memorial's David Walter in a one-hole playoff to earn the BRC's Player of the Year Award. Miller led Walter by four points going into the tournament before Walter finished first with a score of 76 and Miller tied for fifth with a 79, setting up a playoff.

Miller earned first team All-BRC honors while Mike Sarno, who tied for ninth Friday with a score of 80, earned a spot on the second team.

Zach McFarland and Hunter Satterfield each carded rounds of 83 to round out the Raiders' team score.

The WIAA Regional meet is scheduled for today (May 27) at the New Richmond Golf Course.
