Big Rivers Conference Player of the Year Cassie Wurm fired an 88, and four of the Raiders' five players broke 100 as the Hudson girls golf team ran away with the WIAA Division 1 New Richmond Regional championship last Wednesday in New Richmond.

Hudson's team score of 371 was 17 strokes lower than second-place New Richmond. River Falls placed third with 389 while Eau Claire Memorial took fourth with 392. All four teams advanced to this week's WIAA Sectional Tournament at Mill Run Golf Course in Eau Claire.

Rice Lake (402), Superior (416) and Eau Claire North (472) all saw their seasons come to an end.

Wurm finished one stroke behind Eau Claire Memorial's Julia Callaghan for medalist honors. Elli Anderson and Molly Fassbinder both contributed scores of 92 for the Raiders while Danni Krinke carded a 99 and Leisha Cory finished with 107.

Hudson, New Richmond, River Falls and Eau Claire Memorial joined Onalaska, La Crosse Central/Logan, Holmen and Wisconsin Rapids at Tuesday's sectional tournament in Eau Claire. The top two teams, and top three individuals who are not members of qualifying teams, will advance to the WIAA Girls State Golf Championships Oct. 12-13 at University Ridge in Madison.
