Governor raises another $1.5 million for campaign
Gov. Jim Doyle's campaign raised another $1.5 million last year.
His latest finance report was filed Monday. It said he raised $622,000 in the last six months of 2008. That's about one-third less than what he raised in the six months before that.
But Doyle was busy campaigning for other Democrats in the latter half of 2008, especially President Obama.
Doyle keeps saying he's not sure if he'll run for a third term in 2010, but he wants to have enough money if he does go for it.
The governor's campaign has raised $2.5 million since the start of 2007, and he now has $1.4 million on hand.
Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker, who's expected to run for governor as a Republican, had $361,000 in his campaign war chest at the end of last year. He raised $413,000 in the last half of 2008.
Walker started a campaign in 2006, but he pulled out during the year.
