Jennings is the latest in a long line of Packers to head across the border, including Darren Sharper, kicker Ryan Longwell and Brett Favre.

Jennings had injury problems last season, playing only half of the games due to a torn lower abdominal muscle.

The Packers also reached agreement with linebacker A.J. Hawk on a contract modification - essentially a pay cut.

Green Bay was able to knock down his salary cap number by a significant amount. Insiders say it wasn't a take it or get cut presentation from the team.

Tight end Tom Crabtree signed a two-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Friday. And, the team announced it has signed Robert Francois to a one-year deal.

Plans for Finley

Green Bay Packers Coach Mike McCarthy says he some new plans for tight end Jermichael Finley even though it's not certain yet that he'll be around this fall.

Finley is scheduled to get a $3 million roster bonus nine days from now. If the Packers pay it, then his presence will be considered a lock for 2013. McCarthy talked about the 25-year-old Finley Friday, at the first day of the NFL owners meetings in Phoenix. The coach said he wants to simplify Finley's role and focus on what he does best, instead of playing all over the field.

Finley is entering the final season of a two-year, $14 million contract.

McCarthy said the contract might have put too much pressure on Finley at the start of last year. He said Finley loosened up about halfway through the season, and his numbers improved.

Finley caught 37 of 49 passes after last year's bye week for 441 yards and a touchdown.

McCarthy says Finley has grown up a lot, but he still needs to mature some more. Over the weekend, the Packers lost their second-best tight end, Tom Crabtree, to Tampa Bay.
