Harsdorf cited her accomplishments in the state Senate and reform agenda as the type of leadership western Wisconsin needs in Madison.

"This session has brought historic reforms to our state, leading to a balanced budget, a reverse in Wisconsin's trend of job losses, and an improvement in our state's business climate rankings," said Harsdorf. "Entering this session, Wisconsin faced a $3.6 billion budget deficit and was reeling from over 150,000 lost jobs.

"I worked with my colleagues to champion budget reform that eliminated the deficit and enacted reforms that saved taxpayers over one billion dollars while advancing pro-job creation bills."

Harsdorf said she's committed to continuing to work to bring government in line with what taxpayers can afford and fostering job creation and economic development. She said she looks forward to meeting and visiting with area residents as she travels throughout the 10th Senate District.

The 10th Senate District includes parts of Burnett, Dunn, Pierce, Polk, and St. Croix Counties.

"Even as we have made great progress, there is more work to do," Harsdorf said. "Wisconsin's working families continue to be challenged by the national economy's slow recovery. Returning Wisconsin to the tax and spend status quo of the past will only result in higher taxes and a greater burden on families and job creators."

In addition to budget reform and job creation, Harsdorf cited her bipartisan efforts on issues important to western Wisconsin, including the St. Croix River Crossing, banning dangerous synthetic drugs, and repealing costly mandates facing property taxpayers and local governments.
