Bike safety clinic

A bike safety clinic for youth is scheduled from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, May 31, at River Crest Elementary School, 535 County F. Parents are invited to have children bring bikes and helmets for a safety and performance check, learn bike safety rules and practice them on the provided safety course, which takes approximately 30 minutes to complete. An easy family bike ride is planned through Camp St. Croix after the event, at approximately 3 p.m. For more information, contact Lynn Nelson at the hospital, (715) 531-6543.

Blood drive

An American Red Cross Blood Drive is scheduled from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, at the Hudson Hospital Conference Center. Appointments are required - call Beth Schreopfer, (715) 531-6250.

Heart CPR/AED classes

The Heart2Heart program, in recognition of National CPR/AED Awareness Week June 1-7, is offering special education and training events. All events are at the Community Education Center, 901 Dominion Drive. For more information, call (715) 531-6588 or visit heart2heart-stcroix.com:

  • Free health seminar: AED education for the community June 2 and 4, 10-11:30 a.m.; no pre-registration required. Hands-on presentation to learn and become familiar with automated external defibrillators.
  • HeartSaver AED/CPR class (for certification): Saturday, June 6, 8 a.m.-noon, $10/person. Learn the basic techniques of adult, child and infant CPR, first aid for choking and how to use an AED. Pre-registration required.
  • Free CPR Anytime, community training event (non-certification): Saturday, June 13, sessions offered on the hour from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. for families, friends and the general public.

    Doulas, water births

    A free informational meeting for parents who are expecting a baby and are considering a water birth is scheduled from 6-7:30 p.m. Monday, June 1, at Pathways Chiropractic in Hudson.
