HHS collecting pop tabs for peace
As part of the Holocaust unit in modern world history, Hudson High School students in Matt Friedl's class are again collecting pop tabs for the sixth annual "Pop Tabs for Peace" event.
To try and understand the magnitude of the Holocaust, students do an activity where each tab represents 100 victims. All pop tabs are then donated to local charities.
During the past five years, over 440,000 pop tabs have been collected; this year's goal is to obtain 100,000. The last day for collection is Friday, May 29.
Donated pop tabs can be dropped off at Friedl's classroom (Room 234). For more information, or to leave comments, contact Friedl at (715) 377-3800, ext. 6234, or firstname.lastname@example.org.
