Holly (Offner) Fishero, 47
Former Hudsonite Holly J. (Offner) Fishero, 47, passed away at her home in Crawfordsville, Ind., on Saturday, Nov. 15, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Holly was born on Dec. 27, 1960, in River Falls, the fourth of five children to Zachariah (Bud) and Beverly Offner. She was raised in Hudson; the family home was located on 11th street.
She attended Hudson schools and was a popular and active member of the graduating class of 1979, participating in glee club, cheerleading and excelling in the sport of track and field. She was known among classmates and friends for her cheerful and bright personality.
After graduation, she went to work at Telemark Resort in Cable, where she met her husband, Matt Fishero of Crawfordsville, Ind. They were married in Hudson on Aug. 21, 1982. They later made their home in Crawfordsville, where she was employed for the last 14 years by the Crawfordsville School District as a district bus driver.
She was very popular among the children she drove, as she took special interest in their lives and activities. She also occasionally assisted with her husband's company, Fishero & Fishero, a local concrete contracting firm. Her positive personality made her admired and loved among the people who knew her in Crawfordsville. She also enjoyed knitting and scrapbooking with friends.
Holly is survived by her husband, Matt, of Crawfordsville, Ind.; sons, Lucas, of Andover, Minn., and Zachariah at home; and daughter, Hannah at home; her mother, Beverly (Joe) Rygiel of Boyd; brothers, Tom (Debbie) Offner and Randy (Diane) Offner of Hudson, Bill Offner of Apache Junction, Ariz.; sister, Dawn (Greg) Hansen of Ham Lake, Minn.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Zachariah (Bud) Offner.
A Celebration of Life memorial was held Thursday, Nov. 20, at the Sportsman's Club in Crawfordsville.
A gathering of family, friends and classmates and combined fund-raiser is being planned by Hudson friends and classmates to assist the family with medical bills. The event is Saturday, Dec. 27, Holly's 48th birthday, at 5 p.m. at the Village Inn in North Hudson.
