Hudson police are investigating new reports that a man wearing a hood over his head is exposing himself to women on the streets of Hudson.

According to Sgt. Ed Rankin of the Hudson Police Department, the man has been seen in the early-morning hours by people out running or walking. He does not approach the women but stands and exposes himself. Recent incidents have taken place near Williams Park and near Laurel Avenue and 11th Street as well as along Vine Street between Hudson High School and the YMCA.

Police investigated several similar incidents last spring but the reports stopped after a few weeks.

Rankin said the department is conducting an aggressive investigation into the reports and has increased patrols in the area. Until the flasher is caught, Rankin advises residents to:

  • Carry a cell phone while walking or jogging and call 911 immediately if they see anything suspicious. Anyone seeing anything suspicious in their neighborhood should also contact 911 immediately.
  • Do not approach the flasher and do not engage him in any way. "Don't be a hero," said Rankin.
  • If possible, try to see in what direction he heads or if he gets into a vehicle. "Be a good witness."
