Hudson Booster baseball, softball sign-up is March 7
The Hudson Boosters are currently accepting on-line registrations for summer baseball and softball programs at www.hudsonboosters.org. In addition there will be a registration night on Wednesday, March 7, between 6:30 and 8:00 p.m. at the Hudson Middle School cafeteria. Representatives from the Hudson Boosters will be available on the registration night to answer questions about the program.
The Hudson Boosters offer three types of programs: In-house and traveling for both the girls and the boys, and the challenger League. Players may play on a traveling team or an in-house team, but not both. Any player that does not make a traveling team can play in the in-house program providing there is a league for that player's age.
The in-house programs are for boys who want to play baseball and girls who want to play fastpitch softball in a less competitive environment. The in-house junior, senior and major leagues have an end-of-year tournament scheduled to be completed on Saturday, July 21. The T-ball, machine pitch leagues and the challenger programs do not have an end of year tournament since they are considered learning leagues.
The boys major league is a recreational league which allows boys from Hudson to play against teams from St. Croix Central, Somerset, New Richmond and River Falls.
The Booster baseball and softball programs also offer in-house tournament teams for boys in the junior and senior leagues and girls in the junior, senior and major leagues. These teams are made up of players from the in-house programs who want to experience some weekend tournaments while playing in-house baseball or softball during the week.
The in-house program age is defined by the child's age as of Aug. 31.
The boys in-house programs are: boys T-ball (5 and 6 year olds); boys machine pitch 1 (7 year olds); boys machine pitch 2 (8 year olds); boys junior league (9 and 10 year olds); boys senior league (11 and 12 year olds); and boys major league (13 and 14 year olds).
The boys in-house program is headed by Scott Cameron at scameron@andersencorp. com or (715) 441-0608.
The girls in-house programs are: Girls T-ball (5 and 6 year olds); girls machine Pitch (7 and 8 year olds); girls junior league (9 and 10 year olds); girls senior league (11 and 12 year olds); and girls major league (13 - 18 year olds).
The girls in-house program is headed by Chris Jones at firstname.lastname@example.org or (612) 618-0226.
The purpose of the Hudson Booster traveling programs is to provide an opportunity for players to continue to develop their skills, and to play with and against players of similar ability. Regularly scheduled games are played during the week, with approximately one-half of those games being played in Hudson. Away games are played in the Twin Cities Metropolitan area, with most games in the East metro area. Tournaments are limited, and usually played on the weekends.

Reduced injury factor equipment is used, and the field, facilities, and equipment are set up so that all players can participate in this program.
