The Hudson Community Children's Center awarded Judy Brekke the Extra Mile Employee Award and Cindy Payseur, a volunteer at the center, the Good Samaritan Award.

Brekke's award is presented to employees who have demonstrated an exemplary work ethic. Brekke has been an employee at the center for almost seven years. Her dedication to her profession is evident by her initiative, her peer support, her reliability and her nurturing in the classroom.

Payseur, winner of the Good Samaritan Award, has been volunteering at the center once a week for almost a year. Each time she comes she brings art projects, science experiments or new songs to share. Being a previous director of a child care center in Colorado, she has a wealth of information that she shares with the teachers.

Brain Soland, the executive director of Catholic Charities of the Superior Diocese, presented the awards. Catholic Charities is the sponsoring agent for Hudson Community Children's Center.
