Divine Custom Homes has received a top honor from the Builders Association of the Twin Cities.

The luxurious Chateauwood mansion designed and built by the Hudson company was picked for a Reggie Award by the builders and associates who toured it during last year’s Twin Cities Parade of Homes.

The $2.2 million house won the Reggie for homes valued at $1.2 million or more.

“In essence, it is the highest award given,” said Jeff Warren, president of Divine Custom Homes.

Reggie Awards are given for homes in different price ranges on the tour that are judged the best examples of excellence in design, construction quality and value.

The almost medieval appearing Chateauwood was designed by Tami Sherman of Divine Custom Homes.

“Both rustic and refined, and comfortable yet majestic, this stunning four-bedroom, six-bathroom masterpiece sits high on a hillside not far from the St. Croix River, overlooking the rolling valley below,” the company’s website declares.

“It is a true mountain-style home, designed with the muscle and comforts of a lodge, but also with wall-to-wall grace and refinements that separate it.”

The house is located in the Cedar Bluffs subdivision in Afton, Minn.

“If you could think of it, the house has it,” said Warren. “The house is really custom.”

It features wood turret ceilings, hidden room entrances, a spiral staircase from the upper level to the lowest level, a theater and entertainment area including a 12-seat bar, a steam shower, a sauna and Divine Custom Homes’ signature screen porch with a wood-burning fireplace.

“The home’s strong, but charming, exterior perfectly complements the idyllic setting, with custom-made entry doors offering a warm invitation inside and framing the first view of the spectacular interior,” the website, www.divinecustomhome.com, says.

“The open and airy environment is accentuated by walls of windows and breathtaking views. Classic fixtures with a modern spirit run throughout the home.”

Warren and Sherman started Divine Custom Homes, a design-build company, almost 12 years ago. The company has won a previous Reggie for a lower-priced home, as well as People’s Choice Awards.

The company’s offices are located in a model home at 397 Eagle Bluff Court in the town of Troy.

Another house designed and built by the company will be featured on the Midwest Home Luxury Home Tour in June. It is located in The Sanctuary subdivision in Lake Elmo, Minn.
