Hudson grad Engebreth featured at Phipps
The Phipps Oratorio Society Chorus and Orchestra will perform Cantique de Jean Racine by Gabriel Fauré, Cantata 56 by J. S. Bach, and "Gloria" by Antonio Vivaldi on Sunday, March 24, at 2 p.m. at Bethel Highlands Church, 504 Frontage Road.
The featured baritone soloist is Hudson High School graduate Aaron Engebreth. Acclaimed for his "exemplary diction and rich baritone voice" (Boston Phoenix), Engebreth enjoys an active solo career in opera, oratorio, and recital.
As a recording artist, Engebreth is featured on two operatic recordings with the Boston Early Music Festival and Radio Bremen, both nominated for Grammy Awards for Best Operatic Recording: the 2007 release of Lully's "Thésée" (also nominated for a 2008 Gramophone Award), and the 2008 release of Lully's "Psyché."
While attending Hudson High School, Engebreth performed with The Phipps Children's Theater.
General admission tickets are $22 for adults and $10 for students of all ages. Reservations may be made by contacting The Phipps Center for the Arts ticket office at (715) 386-8409 or online at The Phipps.
