The Tartan team Hudson faced last Wednesday was very different from the Titans the Raiders beat 8-0 at the Shakopee Tournament earlier this season, when most of Tartan's juniors, their oldest players, were absent because of prom. Those juniors scored all but one of Tartan's eight goals on Wednesday.

Hudson's Carter Bewley recovered a rebound and opened the scoring, but Tartan answered with two quick goals. Taren Motte tied it for Hudson but Tartan led, 3-2, at the end of the first quarter.

The second quarter was all Tartan, with the Titans scoring four unanswered goals to take a 7-02 halftime lead.

Hudson opened the third quarter with goals from Motte and Spencer Knapp before Tartan added a goal. Motte then scored his third goal of the game to make it an 8-5 game after three.

Hudson's defense, which had tightened up considerably in the third quarter, completely shut Tartan down in the forth. Anthony Queener and Brandon Schwartz scored to bring the Raiders to within one, 7-8, and in the last minute of play Knapp fed the ball to Bewley, who netted the tying goal to end regulation tied 8-8.

Hudson controlled the opening face-off in sudden-death overtime but failed to score, and Tartan took over the ball. The Raider defense fended off several Titan scoring attempts before clearing the ball and putting Hudson back on the offensive. Bewley then passed to Queener who scored the winning goal.

Alec Vanasse led the team scooping up seven ground balls, and Hudson goalkeeper Jordan Madden had 14 saves in the white-knuckle overtime win.

Friday against Shakopee, Hudson and Shakopee traded goals throughout the first half before Hudson pulled away for a 10-6 victory.

Queener scored a pair of first quarter goals and Motte added one to give Hudson a 3-2 lead after one. Two more goals by Motte and one by Henrik Wiesemeyer gave Hudson a 5-4 halftime lead.

Mott and Queener scored a goal each to start the second half. Shakopee concentrated its defensive efforts on those two players, which created opportunities for other Raiders. Hudson's Antonio Bloomquist scored with an assist by Brandon Schwartz, and Schwartz added a goal of his own at the end of the third quarter for a 9-4 Hudson lead.

Shakopee tried to rally with two goals at the beginning of the fourth quarter but it was too little, too late. Adam Lipps scored off another assist by Schwartz to end the game with a 10-6 victory for Hudson.
