Two days later the Raiders finished fifth at the Simley Invitational.

Last Thursday in Eau Claire, Willie Skinner and Sawyer Arndt provided the only Raider first place finishes in back-to-back races. Skinner won the 100 yard freestyle in 51.53 seconds while Arndt took first in the 500 free with a time of 5 minutes, 27.87 seconds. Ross Wusterbarth gave the Raiders two of the top three places in the 100 free with a third place time of 57.5 seconds.

Saturday, the Raiders went up against four larger Minnesota schools that also had the luxury of allowing seventh- and eighth-graders to compete, and finished fifth with a total of 320 points.

See the Jan. 10 print edition of the Star-Observer for more results from both meets.

The Raiders will travel to Chippewa Falls for a BRC dual meet Thursday, Jan. 10. They will host Rice Lake in a BRC meet next Thursday, Jan. 17, at 6:30 p.m.
