Hudson School of Gymnastics ends its season on a high note

Hudson School of Gymnastics competed in its final regular meet of the season Feb. 26 at Classic Gymnastics in Chanhassen, Minn. with five levels competing.

The level 4, 5 and 8 teams took first place and the level 7 team took third with its highest total score of the season against some very tough competition. Level 6 did not compete in the team competition.

A number of girls took first place in their age groups in the individual competition. Taking first place in level 4 was Ashley Hay, in level 5 Anna Veenendall and Madison Wisse, in level 6 Jacqueline Balsiger, in level 7 Olivia Dunlap and in level 8 Kaitlyn Gilson.

A number of girls also achieved their highest scores of the season. Achieving personal bests were Hay, Ashley Peterson, Kaitlyn Zignego, Katherine Marquardt, Lane Burke and Megan Michaels in Level 4, Veenendall, Maia Malchow and Winter Roberts, in Level 5, and Gabby Hughes, Olivia Dunlap and Staci Solin in Level 7.

The entire level 7 and level 8 teams qualified for the optional level state meet in Rice Lake last weekend.

The girl's competitive compulsory and optional teams are coached by gym owners and world class coaches Seaok An and her husband Hwichul Kim. Also coaching the girl's teams are Megan Lund, Staci Solin, Ellen Clauss and Tina Thompson.
