Hudson writer talks fine dining in Wisconsin
Brenda Bredahl has earned a reputation as a go-to person when it comes to a lot of Wisconsin’s history, especially in this part of the state. And one of Bredahl’s favorite topics of state history is the long traditional of fine dining as defined by the supper club.
That will be the topic of a presentation by Bredahl, “Supper Clubs of Wisconsin,” sponsored by the Wisconsin Historical Foundation of Madison, at the Hudson Brewing Company, 1510 Swasey St., Saturday, Nov. 2, from noon to 2 p.m.
Supper clubs in the area over the years have included Sam’s, Frenchy’s, the Hudson Harbor and the Country House. Still serving the public are the River’s Edge, the Sports Club and the West Wind to name a few. Expect Bredahl to highlight her favorites -- past and present throughout the state.
The event will also include a sampling of supper club fare and a chance to taste Hudson Brewery’s own American Sky Beer.
Space is limited and reservations must be received by Oct. 28. Tickets are $10 for members and $15 for non-members which includes admission, a brewery tour, beer tasting, a complimentary pint and hors d’oeuvres.
