Gilson, a Level 8 gymnast who competes for Twin City Twisters in Champlin, Minn., took home the first-place trophies in the all-around, beam and floor exercise while finishing third on both the vault and bars.

Gilson achieved a career high all-around score of 38.025 at the championships. She also achieved a personal best vault score of 9.25, flipping a tucked tsukahara. Gilson scored an impressive 9.575 on bars, a 9.55 beam and a 9.65 floor.

At the championship meet, Gilson competed against Level 8 gymnasts from Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin. Gilson's all-around score of 38.025 ranked her fifth out of nearly 300 gymnasts across all age divisions in Level 8.

A minimum score of 34.00 was required to qualify to the regional meet. Gilson qualified with a 37.20 at the Minnesota state meet in March.

This Region 4 Championship Meet marks the end of a successful Level 8 season for Gilson. She will begin training for Level 9 and will compete again with her Twister team-mates in December.
