"Majestic Flyway" will be the theme of the 2013 Hudson Hot Air Affair winter festival and hot air balloon rally. The annual event will be Feb. 1-3, with hot air balloon mass ascensions, moon glow, torchlight parade, craft sale, chili cookoff, birding theme programs and many other family-oriented events.

Theme events this year will include pre-event programs on birding, including a Swan Walk on Jan. 12 to learn about the flock of wintering trumpeter swans in Hudson.

YMCA Camp St. Croix will host a Candlelight Hike and Ski along with a nature program on Jan. 19.

The Raptor Center from the University of Minnesota will present a program at E.P. Rock Elementary School on Saturday, Feb. 2 and bring live raptors including an American Eagle.
