Huseboe 5K draws 125, many youth

The second annual "For Pete's Sake 5K" was Saturday, held in memory of Pete Huseboe, an avid Hudson runner and outdoorsman who died Feb. 4, 2007, from a rare brain tumor.

There were 125 runners, many of whom are youth, like some of his children, and often Hudson Middle School student-athletes.

These are the division winners, all from Hudson, and their times: Overall winner, Melissa Burkart, 19:34; overall male winner, Steve Adorn, 20:24; female master's winner for 40 and over, Susan Malecha, 22:03; male master's winner, Mike Runnheim, 21:28.

These are age group winners for females: Under 19, Abby Koski, 13, 21:27; 20-29, Jayme Foley, 24, of Roberts, 24:09; 30-39, Heidi Halverson, 39, 22:26; 40-49, Gina Somerville, 41, 22:42; 50-59, Melissa Porter, 52, 28:52; and 60-plus, Vera Yndestad, 70, 33:08.

These are age group winners for males: Under 19, Alec Broetzman, 11, 20:59; 20-29, Chris Brown, 29, of Woodbury, 22:04; 30-39, Pete Foster, 38, 21:17; 40-49; Brian Messer, 46, 22:58; 50-59, Gary Porter, 58, 23:00; and 60-plus, Del Yndestad, 72, 28:00.
