Iowa educator will be new HMS associate principal
A new Hudson Middle School associate principal has been chosen to replace Jim Dalluhn who recently resigned to take another position.
Trevor Hagerman comes to HMS from Carlisle Community Schools in Iowa where he was a dean of students/associate principal for the past three years. Prior to that he worked as a school counselor.
In a press release, Hagerman said: “A school is a community and each individual brings different assets and plays several roles with that community. I believe if you have high expectations, your teachers and students will better reflect those expectations. There will be more dedication, perseverance and hard work among all.”
HMS science teacher Diane Schofield will be the school’s new dean of students.
Schofield has been a teacher leader on the district’s Teaching, Learning and Assessment team and has extensive experience in developing instructional programming, student assessment and learning interventions.
Schofield said: “I want all students to gain the skills necessary to be lifelong learners and successful citizens. I want students to have learned they are responsible for their own learning. I provide experiences that promote fairness, dignity, respect, self-worth, encouragement and cooperation in my classroom.”
The two will assume their positions on July 1.
