James K. "Jim" Bodesheimer, 77, of Hudson passed away peacefully Saturday, Sept. 13, at his home.
He was born in Hudson on Nov. 4, 1930, the son of Leo and Evelyn (Voight) Bodesheimer.
Jim served his country in the United States Marine Corps in the Korean War.
Jim later married Jean Diltz in Hudson on June 5, 1963.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, astronomy and especially electronics. Jim built everything from radios and metal detectors to telescopes.
James is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jean; first wife, Mary Ann McGarry; four children, Michael (Joyce) Bodesheimer, Ron (Mary) Bodesheimer, Karen King (Mike Mankowski) and Don (Lori) Bodesheimer of Washington; three grandchildren, Brandon and Jessica King, and Kayla Bodesheimer; three sisters, Jeanine Rowell, Virginia (Bob) Tonnar and Jeannette Worrell; and numerous other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Geraldine.
A memorial service is at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, at the O'Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson with Donald R. Bodesheimer officiating.
Friends are welcome from noon until the time of the service at the funeral home.
