Johnson birdies his way to U.S. Bank Championship title
Richard S. Johnson of Sweden is the winner of the U.S. Bank Championship in Milwaukee.
He shot a six-under-par 64 at Brown Deer Park Sunday to regain the top spot he held or shared after the first two rounds.
Johnson birdied the final two holes and had the lowest score for a final round in Milwaukee tournament history.
The 31-year-old Johnson won his first event in five years on the PGA Tour. He went 16-under at 264; one stroke ahead of Ken Duke. Kenny Perry tied for sixth at 12-under.
Third-round co-leaders Nick Flanagan and Gavin Coles shot even-par Sunday to finish in a tie for 11th at minus-11.
Pewaukee native Mark Wilson tied for 19th at 10-under. Jon Turcott of Middleton tied for 64th at three-under.
Johnson is the seventh first-time champion on the Tour this year. He's the fifth foreign player to win Milwaukee's PGA tournament.
