June Catura, 83
June Ruth Catura, 83, of Hudson died Sunday, April 27, at United Hospital in St. Paul.
June was born Aug. 23, 1924, in Plum City, the daughter of Pearl and Flora (Oberding) Bignell.
She was raised in Plum City, where she attended grade school and high school. She furthered her education by taking night courses at Globe Business College in the Twin Cities.
On Oct. 24, 1945, she was united in marriage to Bob Catura in Wallace, Idaho.
June worked as a secretary most of her life. She began working for Blau Gas Company in Hudson before working several years for United Refrigeration in Hudson. She retired from secretarial work from St. John's Hospital physical therapy department in 1980.
June's favorite pastime was tending to her antiques and searching for new heirlooms. She also enjoyed planting her flowers and spending her winters down south.
She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Ward of Hudson; grandchildren, Robert (Darci) Ward of Hammond, Shawn Ward of Hudson and Kristen Ward of Hudson; and great-grandchildren, Paige, Shane and Nathan.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Pearl and Flora (Oberding) Bignell; husband, Bob; sister, Fern Bauer; and brother, Robert Bignell.
Mass of Christian Burial was at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 1, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Hudson.
Her family served as pallbearers.
Visitation was Wednesday, April 30, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the O'Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson and one hour prior to the Mass at church on Thursday.
Funeral services were entrusted to the O'Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson.
