Barring a last-second plea deal, jury selection will take place Thursday and Friday in the trial of Leilani Neumann, the Weston mother accused of praying instead of getting treatment for her diabetic daughter.

Neumann, 41, and her husband, Dale, are both charged in Marathon County with second-degree reckless homicide.

The case has attracted national attention and officials say they'll beef up security for the crowds that are expected.

Questionnaires have been sent to 250 potential jurors from the home county.

The trial is expected to run through the end of next week and will be televised on tape-delayed basis on Tru TV, the former Court TV. 1

Madeline Neumann, 11, died on Easter of last year. The girl's parents said they didn't expect her to die from an undiagnosed diabetic condition.

But prosecutors said the couple should have known and they were required to get the girl to a doctor.

The Neumanns failed to get their charges dropped while claiming they violated their constitutional religious rights.

Dale Neumann is scheduled to go on trial July 23.
