The new franchise is located on the lower level at 1810 Crest View Drive and is owned by Sandy and Roger Gehrke, Randy Cudd, Reid and Jennifer Ferguson, Sharen Kortas, Carolyn Hansen and Mike Cylkowski. The new agency will have 23 agents and will service a territory that stretches from Hudson to Menomonie and south to Prescott.

The office location is temporary. An investment group that includes the Gehrkes is building the Keller Williams Center at Hanley and Carmichael roads. The 28,000-square-foot building will also lease space. It is expected to be completed early next year.

According to Kortas, Keller Williams is different from other real estate companies. "They treat their agents like stakeholders, giving us a say in how the business is run. Not all the decisions come from the top down, but provide agents with input on what works for them. The company also has a profit-sharing plan with agents".

Sandy Gehrke, who has worked in real estate in the Hudson area for years, said Keller Williams believes its success comes from and through its agents. "It's a culture that is based on the company motto - faith, family and business - in that order. It is not about the money but about leading a good life and what you want to do to get there."

Gehrke added that the company is learning-based and conducts in-house training weekly as well as providing regional and national opportunities for its employees. "More training means agents will be more successful," she said.

Keller Williams agents always put the needs of their clients first, according to partner Reid Ferguson, referring to a nine-point "belief system" that states a deal is either a win-win for everyone involved or there is no deal.
