Leadership Hudson ends with horse program
The Leadership Hudson Program, sponsored by the Hudson Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau, ended the year with an equine-guided education program.
"You can lead a horse to water, as the saying goes, but 10 members of the Hudson Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau's Leadership Hudson training recently spent an afternoon learning what horses can teach humans about leadership -- without the humans ever getting on horseback," said Pat Sherley director of communications and programs for the Chamber.
The event was an equine-guided education workshop at Hawk's Ridge Ranch near Hudson conducted by Lynn Baskfield and Ann Romberg, certified EGE coaches and founders of Wisdom Horse Coaching, based at the ranch.
The workshop was the last of the year's monthly programs put on by the Leadership Hudson Program. The reflection month for program participants pulls all the leadership skills learned for the past year together, creating a possible new emerging leader to benefit the Hudson community.
The basic principle of equine guided corporate coaching is that horse-human interactions reflect the human's behavior in the workplace. Through exercises on the ground with horses people develop insights that can help them achieve goals and reach their potential in leadership and life.
"As human coaches, Baskfield and Romberg provide skilled observation and feedback," Sherley said.
Building on five years of success with corporate training, Wisdom Horse Coaching is launching a new program for upper-level executives and entrepreneurs this summer. Baskfield and Romberg also travel around the country conducting workshops.
The Hudson Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau is now accepting applications for 2008-09 Leadership Hudson Program.
