Legion to host golf/euchre challenge
The American Legion of River Falls will host a Golf and Euchre Challenge on Sunday, June 13, at the River Falls Golf Club.
The event offers participants a chance to play in an 18-hole golf scramble or a euchre tournament and is a fundraiser for the Legion.
The golf scramble begins with lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Euchre lunch will be served from 1-1:30 p.m. with the round robin tournament starting at 2 p.m.
Cost is $75 for golf, which includes lunch, practice range balls, golf with cart and dinner. Cost for the euchre tournament is $25 and includes lunch and dinner. Extra dinner tickets cost $15 each.
The golf tournament will include contests and games at various holes, including longest drives and closest to the pin for both men and women, and a putting contest.
A raffle for both golfers and euchre players will also be held with one of the prizes a paver that will be installed at the Veteran's Memorial at Greenwood Cemetery with the winner choosing the name to be inscribed.
All proceeds will go to the many causes supported by the American Legion of River Falls. In addition to programs such as American Legion Baseball, Camp American Legion, County Youth Government Day, Badger Boys and Girls State, and funding scholarships for graduating high school seniors, funds raised will also help support the Legion's funeral, parade and Memorial Day Honor Guard, the National High School Oratorical Contest, the Child Welfare Foundation and fireman, policeman and EMT of the year awards.
Registration deadline for the golf and euchre challenge is May 31.
