Letter: Hanson for school board
I first met Bruce Hanson just over two years ago at a social event held by our Rotary club. It didn't take me long to figure out that Bruce was someone with whom I wanted to be acquainted. Since then I have had the opportunity to work with Bruce in many capacities including Junior Achievement and Rotary. Bruce's passion for children is evident in everything he does.
As the chair of the Hudson Junior Achievement Board, Bruce was a key figure in initiating an exciting pilot program that will bring more of the JA curriculum to the students at the high school. Bruce also kept focus on the fundraising effort to pay for it.
I also have served on the Hudson Daybreak Rotary Board with Bruce. In that role, he is constantly challenging the status quo and ensuring that our activities align with and strengthen our community. Bruce has been a key figure in planning the redesigned Hudson Winter Gala and is spearheading an effort to put books in the hands of our community's neediest children.
Moreover, Bruce is a great friend and listener. Recently I was struggling with time allocation and prioritization and knowing how involved Bruce was, I asked to sit down and talk with him. He was more than willing to take time out of his busy life to listen and offer some guidance.
Having worked with Bruce in these capacities over the past few years, I have no doubt he is an excellent choice to serve on the Hudson School Board. His leadership and common sense approach make him an exceptional candidate. A vote for Bruce is most certainly a vote for the betterment of the Hudson School District.
