Letter: Lies didn't hurt anyone
Just want to comment on the letter re the John Edwards' affair. Yes, some Democratic politicians seem to be taking the slogan, "make love, not war" way too literally. We would all be happier if they could keep their pants on. But (much more pertinent in the political arena) remember, when Clinton (or Edwards) lied, nobody died!
However, there probably will never be an accurate count of the deaths attributable to the Bush/Cheney lies. Not only are we still counting American and Iraqi deaths, but now are starting to feel the ripple effects (in Georgia for example) of the complete loss of our global moral authority and the fast depletion of our economic clout. The ripple effects of this administration's lies and bungling will be felt for a long, long time.
