Afton resident Diane Dettmann spoke at the Hudson Area Joint Library about her book, "Miriam Daughter of Finnish Immigrants."

Harri Koivu, a native of Finland, attended along with daughter Hannah, 9, left, his son Harrison, 12, right.

Harri and his family have recently moved to the Hudson area from Connecticut and registered for library cards as one of their first actions in the area.

The Friends of the Library plan to have Diane back for another program featuring her most recent book "Twenty-Eight Snow Angels: A Widow's Story of Love, Loss and Renewal." Both books are available for checkout at the library.
