Local volleyball teams successfully on the Attack

The Croix Attack 16-1 team won the Hudson Volleyball 15-16 Tournament held last weekend at Hudson High School. Eight teams from Hudson, Eau Claire, Burnsville, Stillwater and Henry Sibley participated. SAJO 16-Stillwater finished second, and Croix Attack 16-2 and Burnsville Thunder tied for third in the Gold Division. Croix Attack 15-1 finished second to Henry Sibley 16-Gold in the Bronze Division.

Members of the 16-1 team include Kayla Boumeester, Kristin Briggs, Britini Eberlin, Ashlyn Ferron, Elizabeth Gagliardi, Natalie Horsman, Kirsten Iverson, Allison Kocik, Bailey Larson, Ashley Lindemann and Jessica Murtha. The team is coached by Karen Peterson and assistant coach Dale Peterson.

Members of the 16-2 team include Sarah Buffington, Brittany Jennings, Kate Keller, Kelsey Kirkwood, Molly Murphy, Kari Pelzel, Elise Strobach, Missy Tennant and Kimberly Van Horn. They are coached by Sheila Pelzel and Tony Kurkowski.

Hudson will host another tournament this Saturday for teams in the 13-14 age bracket, also at Hudson High School, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Eight more teams from Hudson, Edina, Burnsville, Mendota, Oakdale and the Anoka area will participate.
