Marcel "Hammer" Hoaglan, Sr., 75
Marcel D. "Hammer" Hoaglan, Sr., 75, of Sanborn, Wis., formerly of Hudson, Wis. passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Jan. 19.
Hammer was born in Independence, Iowa, moved to the Ashland area with his family in the early years, and then to Lakeland, Minn. He also lived and worked in the Hudson area for many years and served four years with the US Air Force. He drove truck for 23 years and then moved to Sanborn, and owned the Just A Bar in Sanborn. He also worked for Bitter Creek Candle Supply until he retired.
Hammer loved his family and friends. He loved being outdoors and especially loved being at the race track on Saturday nights. He was truly one of a kind!
He is survived by his wife, Barb; children, Marcel Jr. (Patty), Hudson, Misty (Tom) and Baily, Frederick, Roberts, Wis., Melody (Roger) Anderson, Maplewood, Minn, Cy, Sanborn, Wis.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters-in law; and many nieces and nephews.
Special friends, Dewy, Brenda, Megan, Jordan, and Annie Ylitalo, Ashland, Wis., Jerry and Rosemary Anderson, Sanborn, Wis., and Brian Zepczyk, Sanborn, Wis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and a special friend, Jerry Zepczyk; as well as his two buddies, Roadway and Tina.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, at the Sanborn United Methodist Church in Sanborn, Wis. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church.
