Margaret M. Turner, 87
Margaret Mary Turner, age 87, resident of Christian Community Home in Hudson, died Friday, Nov. 7, at United Hospital in St. Paul.
Margaret was born the daughter of James and Josephine (Goulet) McNamara on Oct. 16, 1921, in a farmhouse in Jessenland Township near Henderson, Minn. She graduated from Litchfield (Minn.) High School.
On Nov. 14, 1942, she was united in marriage to Paul Turner at St. Phillips Catholic Church in Litchfield. Their union was blessed with children Donna Rea and Tom.
Margaret last worked for the Minnesota Department of Commerce and retired in October 1986.
She loved the outdoors, fishing, gardening, canning, baking and cooking. She volunteered for many years at the Little Sisters of the Poor in St. Paul and of late talked to children at local schools about what it was like growing up in the 1920s.
Margaret will be remembered by her children, Donna and Tom; grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Helen Breitenbach and Mary Thompson; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband Paul; siblings: Lionel, Leo, Cecil, Glory Ann, Rita and Kathleen; and great-grandson, Daniel.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial is at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Hudson. Visitation is one hour prior.
Interment will be in Roselawn Cemetery in Roseville, Minn.
