Doctors were planning to move Marissa Anne Saad to a nearby rehabilitation hospital, but an increase in her blood pressure made them change their minds, a CaringBridge journal entry on Tuesday said.

"The two halves of her brain are not working together, which is causing her blood pressure to rise," Jessica Gentner reported of Saad's condition. "They tried to take her off of the ventilator to see if she would breathe at least a little on her own. She was not able to. The nurses are going to continue to try."

Gentner identified herself as Saad's best friend.

She said a benefit account for Saad has been set up at the Associated Bank in downtown Hudson, 307 Second St. The account is titled: Benefit for Marissa Saad.

"Rissy does not have health insurance. She will need all the assistance she can get," the journal entry adds.

To access Saad's CaringBridge site, type "marissaannesaad" into the search engine.

The Wisconsin State Patrol report on the accident indicates that I-94 at Exit 1 was icy and wet when Saad lost control of her vehicle there on the morning of Jan. 28.

A light fog in the area was freezing to the roadway, the accident report says.
