Marketing skills are valuable for all
A variety of marketing classes are offered at Hudson High School.
Marketing I is a full-year class open to students in grades 10-12. The class introduces students to the world of business and marketing, covering the economy, the stock market, international business, entrepreneurship, management, sales, advertising, Internet marketing, branding and product development.
"It is a great class for students interested in further pursuing a business and/or marketing degree in college; however, all students can benefit from these topics," said HHS School to Career Coordinator Melisa Hansen. "The knowledge and skills learned in marketing classes also help students become more informed consumers in today's tough economic environment."
After successfully completing Marketing I, students can continue with Sports and Entertainment Marketing, Marketing II and Business and Marketing Occupations. Hansen said the top 10 reasons to register for marketing classes:
10) Use computers and other technology daily; 9) Learn about cool topics like advertising, entrepreneurship and sales; 8) Average salary for marketing managers is $98,720; 7) Chance to take classes like Sports Marketing and Marketing II; 6) Business is the No. 1 major of incoming college freshmen - prepare now; 5) Get involved in DECA (business and marketing club) and the school store; 4) Enjoy a laid-back classroom atmosphere and teacher; 3) Experience real-world, hands-on projects; 2) Over one-third of careers are marketing-related (projected to increase); and 1) Have a class you look forward to during the day!
