Mary Alice Powers, 79, Prentice, town of Ogema, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, at Memorial Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Medford.
She was born May 16, 1928, in Prentice, the daughter of Albert and Clara (Ramminger) Manthey. She was a 1946 graduate of Prentice High School, where she was salutatorian of her class.
She was married to Clarence Powers in Prentice on June 3, 1947.
She is survived by five children, Michael (Carolyn) of North Hudson, Ann (Eugene) Hassman of Wausaukee, Margaret Page of Prentice, John of Owen and Malania (Mark) Gallistel of Ogema; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gabriel (Veronica) of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Xavier (Diane) of Minneapolis; and three sisters, Sister Ann Manthey of Whitehall, Ce (Bob) Vytlacil of Hudson and Aurelia (Jeff) Poythress of St. Michael, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, on May 15, 2002; daughter, Kathleen; and brother, Leo.
Funeral services were Feb. 16 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Prentice with Father Gerald Hagen celebrating the funeral Mass.
Interment was in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Westboro. Pallbearers were Donald, Mark and David Hassman, Patrick, Dawn, Jamie and Nicholas Powers, Ryan Page and Keith Gallistel.
The Heindl Funeral Home, Prentice, assisted the family with arrangements.
