Mason continues recovery as Bucks ready for Pacers
Milwaukee Bucks starting forward Desmond Mason is recovering nicely from an injured left thumb and he hopes to return a week from Saturday night against Houston at the Bradley Center.
Mason has missed 17 games and he had surgery on the thumb three days before Christmas.
In 25 contests this season, Mason has averaged eight points and four rebounds. This is the longest he's ever been out due to injury. Mason missed 12 games two seasons ago with the New Orleans-Oklahoma City Hornets.
Whenever he returns, it would be a boost for a Milwaukee team that has lost six of its last seven and is now a season-worst 10 games below .500 at 16-26.
The Bucks will host the Indiana Pacers tonight (Thursday) and starting point guard Mo Williams expects to be ready.
He sat out Tuesday night's home loss to Phoenix with a sprained finger. Williams will have it tested again today before a final decision is made.
