May Fair event planned for Mother's Day
The first annual May Fair Event and Sale is on Sunday, May 9, in the Commercial Building of the St. Croix County Fairplex in Glenwood City. Doors open at 12:30 p.m., with entertainment by The Memories starting at 1 p.m.
Included in the day's activities are kids' events and hot food. Donations including salon packages, sports tickets, Bonnie Mohr prints, gift certificates, farm equipment and more will be auctioned in both live and silent auctions. Also up for purchase will be high quality dairy heifers and embryo packages and semen from popular sires, donated from leading county breeders.
Proceeds of the event will go toward constructing a new dairy barn at the Fairplex. Costs are estimated at $350,000-$400,000. About a fourth of the costs have been committed, and all of the engineering is ready.
