Memorial Day services set

The activities are sponsored by American Legion Post 50 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2115. Speaker at the Willow River Cemetery ceremony is Hudsonite Rick Hagar, U.S. Army chief warrant officer. The ceremony also includes the Boys Scouts, the Hudson High School Band, the Legion-VFW Honor Guard, Miss Hudson Royalty and local veterans. The service will be held rain or shine.
A military salute and Mass is scheduled at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery at 9 a.m. (at the church if inclement weather). Services at Lakeview (Lakeland) and Afton cemeteries are scheduled at approximately 11:15 and 11:45 a.m. The Memorial Day Committee includes Gordon Knudson, John Helgeson, Merlin Blaisdale and Wanda Plourde. Post commanders are James Fosse (VFW Post 2115) and David McDonald (American Legion Post 50).
