Minnesota Orchestra performs in Hudson June 29
The Phipps Center for the Arts has announced the 22nd annual free outdoor concert by the Minnesota Orchestra, scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Monday, June 29, in the Lakefront Park band shell.
The orchestra, under the direction of Sarah Hicks, will play a mix of popular and classical music, including "The Star-Spangled Banner," Sousa's "Washington Post" March, Heitzeg's "Blue Liberty," Verdi's Triumphal March from "Aida," an Armed Forces salute, Berlioz's Hungarian march "Rákóczy," Strauss' "Voices of Spring" Waltz, Williams' Imperial March from "Star Wars," and Tchaikovsky's "1812" Overture.
One of the orchestra's Symphony for the Cities performances this summer, the Hudson concert is sponsored by the Fred C. and Katherine B. Andersen Foundation, the Hudson Community Fund, the Margaret Rivers Fund, the National Endowment for the Arts and the William H. Phipps Foundation.
Audience members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets.
