Missing teen and her baby found in Hudson
River Falls Wisconsin 2815 Prairie Drive / P.O. Box 25 54022

A missing Brooklyn Center, Minn., teenager and her nine-month-old daughter were found early Wednesday morning walking along Badlands Road at Kinney Road in the town of Hudson, according to St. Croix County Sheriff John Shilts.

They were accompanied by the teenager’s father, Shandrel Nash, 38, who also was wanted by authorities.

Shilts said a Badland Road resident thought it was strange for two people with a baby to be walking along the town road at 6:20 a.m. and called authorities.

The sheriff’s deputy who responded to the scene recognized the Nashes from the descriptions given by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension when it issued a missing persons alert the previous day.

They initially gave the deputy false names, according to Shilts, but admitted to their identities after a brief period.

Shandrel Nash was arrested on a felony warrant from Minnesota for an alleged earlier assault on his daughter.

The teenager and her daughter were taken to Hudson Hospital for a medical evaluation, and then turned over to Hennepin County Children’s Services.

Shaterarra Nash was reported to have taken her baby from a foster home.

The baby reportedly has a medical condition that requires her to take medication that must be kept frozen. Authorities were afraid the baby wcould have a seizure and die without the medication.

It was believed that the Nashes might be trying to hitchhike to Georgia or Florida.
